No book review post today. I went on a volunteering trip to a free opthalmology clinic in Tecate
as a scrub tech (I hand instruments to the surgeon). It was cataracts day. We did a lot of surgeries, and at the end of the day I was exhausted and happy. Well, happy except for the last one. This elderly lady had small eyeballs, so the pressure in her eye was extremely high, which made it dangerous to operate on. In the end, the surgeon decided not to risk it. I held her hand the whole way through.
I got home, crawled into bed, and fell asleep for three hours. And now I'm back, but enjoying the solitude before my hubster gets back from work.
As far as reading goes, I'm a little torn about where to go next:
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
- Crash (Visions #1) by Lisa McMann -- might go with this one since I'm already halfway through
- Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James (borrowing it via Overdrive on my Kindle)
- Heartkeeper (Heartkeeper Saga #1) by B. T. Lyons
I'm going to edit a friend's paper after posting this, so take good care and good night. :)
